- Easter beach trip to Fort Caswell. The church people meet at the church the Friday before Easter and travel together to Fort Caswell. We eat meals together, tour the fort sight, walk the beaches, fish, shoot rockets, play golf, and have Easter egg hunts. On Sunday we attend a sunrise service up on a hill overlooking the beach which has been a church tradition for over 40 years. We then eat breakfast, pack up and return home.
2. VBS (usually a week in June). The entire church really supports this endeavor that has proven to be our greatest outreach program.
- Halloween trunk or treat. Church people decorate their trunks and offer candy, kids tracts and a free hotdog meal to the neighborhood and church.
- WABC also keeps a pantry stocked with non perishables available to anyone in need. The whole church participates in keeping it stocked. We also involve ourselves in other outreach endeavors involving packages for college kids, soldiers, hurricane victims, etc.
- Christmas Program. The children start practicing their program on Sunday nights a few months before presenting to the church on Sunday Morning.
The Sunday night after the children’s program we have several specials, a candlelight service, and communion. The Adults as well practice and perform an adult Christmas Play each year.
Of course we do so many other things such as providing a pre-game meal to local high school varsity teams, reaching out on Saturdays to our local middle school games by providing the concessions, taking a Sunday to leave the pew and put our faith in action by serving the community, Senior activities and trips, Homecoming, Sunday meals, weekend Pig Pickin’s, Men’s Breakfasts and more!
